SECTION 1: PLANNING STAGE:
Aim: In order for me to encapsulate the full nature of your design, I would like your input in understanding your personal tastes and what you would like included in the design itself.
In addition to this, for the purpose of fast communication if you could also provide me with at least 2 contact points (phone/ email)

Process: Below are a series of questions which will enhance my knowledge, and initiate the research stage.

a) What is the nature of the design?
e.g. but not limited to:
Tattoo, Logo, Cover Art, Illustrations, Merchandise, Business Cards, Website Elements, Packaging, Posters

b) Do you have any art of mine that you drew inspiration from for an image of the design you have in mind?

c) Other images you have seen + what aspects of these images would you like incorporated in your design?

d) Symbols that resonate with you

e) What is the story you would like to encapsulate?
e.g. Personal journey
Mission/ Passion
An aspect of your identity you hold dear

f) Do you have any mental image of the design that you wish to describe?

g) What file formats does the client wish to receive their design in to ensure that it is compatible with what I provide.

*Charges: Charges are not included in the planning stage. (Free)


*Payment at Section 1: Payment is REQUIRED as a Non refundable deposit - $100 USD Upfront Payment – This amount will be automatically deducted from the final payment.

 

 

 

SECTION 2: DESIGN STAGE – FORM

Post plan solidification -

Aim: I will provide THREE designs – focused on the form of the design – what the main elements structurally will look like (not inclusive of colours and any detail – shading/ highlights/ structural “clean” lines in this stage). The sketches will be done roughly in biro pen.
Or 1 detailed design that captures the description in section 1 which you have a greater opportunity to make amends to - you may ask which you prefer but I will determine prior to section 2 which process fits best for the project at hand.
 
Process: You will receive 3 different design forms – sketched. I will incorporate ideas/ elements discussed in section 1, and you are to choose 1 out of the 3 designs. You will get TWO major opportunities to alter the structural features of the design.

Amendment opportunity: This is a 3 step process.
a) You can choose 1 of 3 of the designs AND/OR you can provide me with a brief sketch of what any mental image you had of your design.

b) Then from this ONE design you choose, I will provide a list of structural elements in the form sketch that can be altered however you choose, (note that if you choose to re-do a completely new form-sketch (post section 2) it isn’t included in the cost summation + additional charges will apply)

c) I will provide you with an amended form-sketch and you have the FINAL opportunity to alter features of this form sketch

d) I will provide you with the final amended form-sketch and we proceed to part 3 of the process – This sketch will be a line drawing complete with all detail. –
Further Amendments of design form post Section 2 will be subject to additional amendment costs.

*Charges: Charges are applicable for the design form stage upon agreed terms.
*Payment at section 2: Client must pay Half of the total cost at the completion of Section 2

 

SECTION 3: COLOUR PALETTE SELECTION

***Note: If your design is a black-work, with no colour, no costs in section 3 are applicable

Post design solidification -
Aim: The client chooses their colour palette
Process: You will receive a list of colours in a watercolour medium – labelled (1-21). The client lists the corresponding number-colours in preference order. The list is sorted according to colour themes:
a) Natural colours
b) Warm tones
c) Cool tones
d) Bright colours

Amendment opportunity: None.
*Charges: Charges are applicable for “colour palette selection” stage upon agreed terms.
*Payment at section 3: The FINAL payment amount $USD – as per agreed upon price must be paid in full before the final complete design is created by agreed upon (Date/ time) – IF THIS IS A BLACKWORK design. If your design includes colour, proceed to section 4.

 


 

SECTION 4: DESIGN + COLOUR SELECTION

Post colour palette selection -
Aim: The client chooses most favourable colour placement/ combination on design.
Process: The client will discuss where each of the colours they wish to place on the image will go and the painted elements will be incorporated
Amendment opportunity:  none
Note: there is NO amendment opportunity for the form-sketch in section 4. If you wish to amend any aspect of the design, additional amendment costs apply and the process begins at section 2 – see Section 6 for further details.
*Charges: Charges are applicable for “Design + Colour selection” upon agreed terms.
*Payment at section 4: The FINAL payment amount $USD – as per agreed upon price must be paid in full before the final complete design is created by agreed upon (Date/ time)

 


 

SECTION 5: FINALISED DESIGN               

Post design + colour selection -
Aim: The client will receive the FINAL design
Process: You will receive your finalised design at the agreed upon date + time: ___________________ 
Amendment opportunity: There is strictly NO amendment opportunity in section 5. If you wish to amend any aspect of the design, additional amendment costs apply and the process begins at section 2 – see Section 6 for further details.
*Charges: Charges are applicable for “Finalised design section” upon agreed terms – and have already been paid for by section 4
*Payment at section 5: The full agreed upon payment covering sections 2-5 have been finalised. 

 

SECTION 6: FURTHER AMENDMENTS

Aim: This section is specifically for any design aspects that are not covered by the agreed upon price in the scaffold provided in sections 1-5. These amendment costs are based on an hourly rate $35/hr + any material costs and is non-negotiable.
Applicable for any client who wishes to make major amendments post the 2 amendment opportunities in section 2.

1. If in any stage of sections 3-5 you wish to completely change the structural elements of the design
2. If in any stage of sections 5 the piece must be re-painted (due to colour palette changes/ any element additions etc. that are not inclusive in the final piece)
3. If additional pieces with slight modifications are to be created in addition to the main design piece

 

Other Terms and Conditions:

  • Under Intellectual property rights – I have the rights to any design made, any input given by the client in the design process cannot be claimed by the client as a piece of intellectual property

  • If the client wishes to terminate the design process prior to completion, I as the holder of intellectual property rights can re-sell, distribute and re-produce variations of the design

  • If the client wishes to terminate the design process prior to completion, the payment made in Section 1: “Payment is REQUIRED as a Non refundable deposit - $100 USD Upfront Payment – This amount will be automatically deducted from the final payment.” Is strictly non-refundable.

All earnings go towards creating free and readily accessible educational content for the refinement of abstract thinking for all content creators.
